A member of Leeds OPP has finally been dismissed. Jason Redmond was dismissed on June 15th after being convicted of several charges.
Commissioner Thomas Carrique issued a statement, saying, “the corrupt, disgraceful and criminal behavior of this individual is inconsistent with the exemplary conduct of OPP member and our values of serving Ontarians with pride, professionalism and honor.”
Redmond was charged in November of 15 and convicted in October of 2018, for trafficking a controlled substance and uttering a forged document.
An investigation began in August of 2021 into allegations of violent offences and eventually arrested and charged in October of 2021.
He was also convicted of sexual Assault in February of 2023.
