A 31 year old driver has been charged following the death of a cyclist in November of 2023 in Kingston.
The incident took place on Taylor Kidd Boulevard in Kingston, where a cyclist and a Subaru were involved in a collision.
The driver remained on the scene and was cooperative with the investigation according to police.
Life saving measures were provided to the cyclist, 78 year old Patrick Lynch, who was taken to hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
The area remained closed to traffic for around six hours while the scene was processed.
As a result of the investigations. The driver of the Subaru was charged with Carless Driving causing death.
Court -imposed penalties could include a maximum fine of $50,000, custodial jail sentences not exceeding two years and/or up to a five year driver’s license suspension.
