The Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands has announced that road weight restrictions will be lifted on May 5, 2025, following favorable spring weather conditions. The Township’s Operations & Infrastructure Department made the determination based on current temperatures and road conditions. The restrictions, which are typically in place during the spring thaw to protect local infrastructure, will no longer apply after this date.
Residents and businesses that have been impacted by the weight restrictions can now resume their usual operations. The Township encourages all users to continue to exercise caution while on the roads and to stay informed about any future updates from the Operations & Infrastructure Department regarding road conditions and weight limits throughout the year.
