Growing Up on the Farm, a look into local agriculture, fueled by KUBOTA. Today we are profiling Donnaville Holsteins in Lyn.
Michael Shane says the dairy farm has been home to the Shane family since the 1960s when his grandfather started it. After he passed away in 1995, Michael says his father took it over and built it into what it is today with his wife and four boys by his side. Michael’s passion for farming started right away during those early days of riding in the tractor with Mom and Dad. He says he’s always loved the big equipment and milking cows. Now a husband and father in his own right, Michael credits farming for teaching him patience and hard work during challenges like weather. He adds that this summer has been particularly trying at times with how dry its been due to the extreme heat. Donnaville Holsteins dairy products are 100% Canadian, and can be found on grocery store shelves in Brockville and area.
