The Government of Canada is now accepting proposals for the 2025–26 New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP), with funding available for community projects that help seniors stay active, included, and supported.
Launched by Secretary of State for Seniors Stephanie McLean, the call for proposals encourages organizations to apply for initiatives that align with this year’s four national priorities: supporting healthy aging, preventing senior abuse, promoting inclusion, and improving financial security.
Funding through last year’s NHSP helped support nearly 3,000 projects in more than 400 communities, including Pathways for Seniors, a mentoring program developed by Power To Be in Victoria.
The NHSP supports a wide range of activities, from tech and financial literacy classes to fraud prevention, meal delivery, and intergenerational programs.
Applications are open until September 17, 2025, through the Grants and Contributions Online Services portal. One-time registration is required.
Organizations serving seniors can get help by contacting their local NHSP office. Start the application process here.
