The Town of Gananoque is holding its regular council meeting tonight at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will take place in-person at the Town Hall Council Chambers on the 2nd floor, with teleconference and video conference options available for remote participation.
Key agenda items include a public meeting on a proposed Class III development permit for a short-term accommodation rental at 116-118 King Street East. Residents will also hear delegations, including a request from Richard Ferguson of Garden Street to reduce the speed limit and add speed bumps in his neighborhood. Additionally, representatives from the Frontenac Arch Biosphere Network will present on the Judith McLean Memorial Forest.
Council will review several staff reports, such as the Gananoque Public Library’s quarterly update and a parks and recreation grant for seniors’ programming. Other important business includes discussions on private video surveillance by-laws and the eradication of Japanese knotweed.
The meeting will conclude with a closed session addressing solicitor-client privileged advice and municipal negotiations. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for September 2 at 5:00 p.m.
