The Town of Gananoque has announced a temporary closure of Water Street on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closure affects the section of Water Street between Stone Street South and Mill Street and will restrict both pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The closure is required to allow bridge swinging operations for inspection and survey work conducted by the Town and its contractor. Residents and visitors are advised to plan alternative routes during this time.
Town officials thank the public for their patience and understanding while essential maintenance work is carried out. Drivers and pedestrians are reminded to follow posted signage and directions from any on-site personnel to ensure safety throughout the duration of the work.
This temporary closure is part of ongoing efforts by the Town to maintain infrastructure and ensure the continued safety and accessibility of local roads and bridges.
