Gananoque Police Service responded to a report of a person found unconscious in a running, parked vehicle at a local business on August 16th. Officers discovered the individual was difficult to rouse and noted multiple open containers of alcohol in the vehicle.
The driver, a 37-year-old from Little Britain, was arrested and transported to the police station for testing. They have been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and/or drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration. The individual was released on an appearance notice, issued a mandatory 90-day driver’s license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police remind the public that impaired driving remains a serious offence with significant legal consequences and encourage responsible decisions behind the wheel.
