We recently told you about the unfortunate shutdown of the Gananoque Islanders Hockey team. For the first time since 1972 there will be no major hockey in the Town. Coach and GM of the team the last four years Tom Dickson explains why the team shut down.
Dickson says financially it became tough to do this as well.
Hockey will still continue in Gan at the Lou Jeffries Arena this year, with the future stars of the game.
Plenty of thanks is in store for volunteers, fans and staff, who helped make the team successful over the years.
Dickson added that he hopes that someone will possibly take the Islanders under their wing in the future and hopefully see the return of major hockey in the Town of Gananoque very soon.
