Residents in Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands are being advised of several changes to curbside collection, municipal office hours, and waste site operations during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday period.
In Gananoque, garbage and recycling collection will remain unchanged on Tuesday, December 23 and Tuesday, December 30. However, Friday collections affected by the holidays will be moved ahead. The Friday, December 26 pickup will be collected on Wednesday, December 24, while the Friday, January 2 collection will take place on Wednesday, December 31. Gananoque Town Hall will be closed beginning December 24 at 8:30 a.m. and will reopen on January 5 at 8:30 a.m.
Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands offices will close at noon on December 24 and December 31, and will be closed on December 25, 26, and January 1. Regular business hours resume on January 2.
Holiday hours will also apply at Township waste sites in Lansdowne, Lyndhurst, and Escott, with multiple closure dates and several days of early noon closures. Residents are encouraged to review posted schedules and plan visits in advance to avoid inconvenience during the holiday season.
