Trustees with the Upper Canada District School Board have approved the school year calendar for 2026–27, following a presentation by Executive Superintendent Chris Boulay. The calendar reflects guidance from the Ministry of Education and input collected during a public consultation period.
Developed in partnership with the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario, the joint approach helps manage shared transportation costs and avoid additional expenses for the UCDSB. The calendar ensures 97 instructional days per semester, with seven professional activity days spread throughout the year.
Key dates include the first day of school on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, and the last day on Friday, June 25, 2027. Winter break runs from December 21, 2026, to January 1, 2027, with March Break from March 15–19, 2027. Professional activity days are scheduled on September 1, October 26, November 27, January 29, April 23, May 28, and June 28.
The approved calendar will now be submitted to the Ministry of Education for final approval.
