Carveth Care Centre in Gananoque has reported that its retirement lodge has joined the long-term care home in an ongoing enteric outbreak. The update underscores that residents in both areas are now affected, prompting heightened safety measures across the facility.
Masking is mandatory for all visitors and staff, and only Essential Caregivers may enter. Anyone feeling unwell is asked to postpone their visit. Hand hygiene is critical and must be performed on entry, before and after visiting, and upon exit.
The home is working closely with Public Health to manage the outbreak and minimize its impact. Strict infection control protocols are being enforced to protect residents and staff. Officials say vigilance from visitors and adherence to guidelines remain key in preventing further spread while ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
