A family in Gananoque was left homeless after a fire broke out Monday morning at a residential building. The blaze started in a ground-floor unit and spread to the apartments above, causing extensive damage. Fortunately, all family members and their pets, including a cat and a snake, were safely evacuated before firefighters extinguished the fire.
The family’s personal belongings were destroyed, and they are unable to return to their unit. The Town of Gananoque provided temporary hotel accommodations for a few days, but the family now faces the urgent need for clothing, furniture, and other essentials while searching for a new permanent home.
The community is being asked to step in and help support the family during this difficult time. Donations of clothing, household items, and furniture are being welcomed to help them rebuild their lives. A Go Fund Me Page has been set up and a link is available below.
