Gananoque Police Service responded to a 9-1-1 call oin March 7th, reporting a vehicle collision involving a light post. Emergency crews, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, attended the scene. The vehicle’s airbags had deployed, and the passenger sustained an injury.
Both the driver and passenger showed signs of impairment. The 24-year-old driver from Kingston was arrested and taken to the police station for further testing. Following the investigation, the driver was charged with Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs, and Operation while Impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80. As a result, the individual received a mandatory 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Authorities remind drivers that impaired driving poses serious risks and encourage responsible choices to protect everyone on the road.
