In the early hours of January 4, 2026, Gananoque Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle, but the driver fled. Officers disengaged the pursuit due to unsafe road conditions. An investigation was launched, and the driver was later identified.
On March 5, 2026, a neighbouring police agency located and arrested the 40-year-old driver from Brockville. The individual was transported to the Gananoque Police station and charged with Failure to Comply with a Release Order. The driver was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Gananoque Police remind the public that fleeing law enforcement is a serious offence and urge drivers to comply with traffic stops to ensure safety for all road users and officers alike.
