The Ontario government is investing $665,533 through the Ontario Together Trade Fund to help Arctic Acres expand in Rideau Lakes Township. The funding supports a $3.3-million project to build a 30,000-square-foot facility producing ventilated structural insulated panels.
The expansion will create five new jobs and protect nine existing positions, strengthening the rural economy. Arctic Acres, founded in 2019, specializes in precision-engineered geodesic structures and advanced building materials. The new facility will help the company sell products across Ontario, reducing reliance on the U.S. market.
“Arctic Acres’ investment is a major boost for our rural economy,” said Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes. CEO Ben Canning said the facility will empower builders and communities across Canada. The Ontario Together Trade Fund, part of the province’s tariff relief plan, helps businesses adapt, grow, and protect workers affected by global economic uncertainty.
