A Special Weather Statement remains in effect for Gananoque and surrounding areas, with strong winds and blowing snow expected to impact the region.
Environment Canada says southwest winds could gust between 70 and 90 km/h, particularly near Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River. These conditions may create reduced visibility in areas of blowing snow, making travel hazardous at times.
Winds are expected to remain strong and gusty into the afternoon before gradually easing.
Motorists are advised to use caution, reduce speed, and be prepared for quickly changing visibility, especially on open roads and highways exposed to strong crosswinds.
