The Gananoque Curling Club recently hosted the final day of its first-ever Police League with the Special Olympics Ontario – Kingston Shot Rocks team, and organizers are calling the inaugural season a resounding success. The league emphasized teamwork, inclusion, and community, providing athletes with an engaging and supportive environment to develop their curling skills while having fun.
Local law enforcement officers from Kingston Police, Brockville Police, Gananoque Police Service, and the Ontario Provincial Police – East Region participated, taking time from their busy schedules to support the athletes both on and off the ice. Organizers noted that the collaboration and dedication of the officers contributed greatly to the positive experience, helping to create memorable moments for everyone involved.
Due to the success of this first season, the league is already planned to return next year.
