Gananoque’s O’Connor Gallery is opening a new exhibit tonight at 6:30 p.m., celebrating the history of the Thousand Islands Bridge.
Since 1938, the bridge has connected Canada and the United States, and the exhibit showcases historical photographs from its construction and early years.
Curators Linda Baupre and Faye Dennis have carefully compiled the collection, highlighting the bridge’s engineering achievements and its role in regional development.
The display provides visitors with a unique look at the bridge’s past, including images of construction crews, machinery, and the surrounding St. Lawrence River landscape.
The gallery encourages the public to attend the opening event and explore the photographs, offering both residents and visitors an opportunity to appreciate the cultural and historical significance of this iconic landmark in the Thousand Islands region.
