Trustees received updates on student learning and school culture at a March 24, board meeting of the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.
Math facilitator Michael Williams presented progress on the Math Achievement Action Plan highlighting work on teaching strategies teacher training and student support programs. The report pointed to professional development workshops joint planning sessions and added classroom supports tailored to student needs.
Data shared with trustees showed positive achievement trends and outlined next steps to keep improving math results across schools. Williams credited educator dedication teamwork and leadership for the gains and said the plan supports long term success in mathematics.
The meeting also introduced the CDSBEO Kindness Project led by equity consultant Jordan Prophet. The initiative links equity and religious education teams to promote belonging through assemblies activities and student pledges that encourage everyday acts of kindness. Principals use commitments to guide activities and celebrate progress across schools over time.
