Local auto racing enthusiasts will have to wait at least a couple more weeks to get the season started following the recent snowfall in our region.
Across the border at the Can Am Speedway in Lafargeville New York, heavy snow and wet grounds forced the cancelation of the the Thunder on the Thousand Islands Weekend, which was to be held Friday April 10th and Saturday April 11th.
The opener for the DIRTCar 358 Modified Series slated for Friday night has now been moved to July 1st with the DIRTCar Sportsman Series race now part of the season opener weekend on April 24th.
The Super DIRTCar Series Big Block Modifieds will return in September for the annual RD Hutchinson Memorial 67.
Can Am Speedway does have an open practice session for all divisions scheduled for Saturday April 18th and all drivers and teams are welcome to attend.
