Lyndway Hills Golf Course near Sweets Corners, about 40 kilometres north of Kingston, is closed after more than three decades in operation. Flagstick Golf Magazine reports owner Chuck Galway made the announcement on Friday, March 20.
Galway said he is retired after 35 years in the golf industry. The business and the land are not for sale. The course sits on multi-generational family property that was once a dairy farm before development began in 1990.
Lyndway Hills officially opened in 1992 as a nine-hole course and later expanded to include the Rock Garden Pitch & Putt. It welcomed both casual and experienced golfers, including local players and summer visitors from across the region.
Galway said the decision was driven by changing life circumstances. He thanked customers, staff and the community for their support over the years. The golf community is recognizing his contributions and wishing him well in retirement.
