Sharing, caring and having fun was the motto at the recent 70th platinum jubilee for the Retired Women Teachers of Ontario. A special ceremony was held at Town Hall Park in Gananoque the Town Hall lit up in blue. Area Director Glennda Olivier tells us how this ceremony came to be.
Olivier says members of this organization go beyond just classroom educators.
They also enjoy giving back to the community.
The ceremony was followed by a celebration of food and fun times at Maverick’s Restaurant on King Street. Mayor John Beddows was on hand along with Gananoque Town Crier Brian Mabee and several members of Council. She thanked everyone who contributed and helped make the event a success.
They also welcome anyone to join.
