The Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands is reminding residents and property owners about changes to boat wrap disposal ahead of new rules taking effect in 2027.
Boat wrap bins are currently available at the Lansdowne Waste Disposal Site, Peck’s Marina, and Clarks Marina. These bins will remain in place until the end of May 2026, marking the final year of free disposal.
Beginning in January 2027, boat wrap will no longer be considered a recyclable material and will be treated as waste. Residents will be required to dispose of it using a large item or load ticket, depending on the size, with tickets available for purchase at the Township Administration office in Lansdowne.
Starting in April 2027, boat wrap will only be accepted at the Lansdowne waste site.
