The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is launching a new affordable mixed-income rental housing pilot program at six county-owned apartment buildings across the region.
The program combines rent-geared-to-income units with affordable housing units in an effort to expand housing options for eligible residents.
One-bedroom apartments are available in Lansdowne, Cardinal, Spencerville, Westport and Merrickville.
For 2026, affordable housing units are set at $1,290 per month for a one-bedroom apartment. County officials note rents will increase annually and are not subject to provincial rent increase guidelines.
To qualify under the affordable housing stream, households must have an income between $46,001 and $60,000 annually. Applicants must also be at least 16 years old, able to live independently, be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and have a positive rental and credit history.
The counties say the pilot is designed to provide more housing choices for moderate-income households struggling to find affordable rental units in the region.
More information is available through the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville housing department.
