Residents of the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands are invited to take part in the first TLTI Treasure Day of the year on June 6.
The community-wide initiative encourages residents to place unwanted but usable household items on their front lawns for others to pick up free of charge. Organizers say the event is a simple way to reduce waste, support sustainability, and encourage neighbours to connect with one another.
Participants are asked to have items clearly marked as “FREE” and placed outside by 7 a.m. Residents exploring the township for treasures are encouraged to browse respectfully, avoid blocking driveways or traffic, and only take items they can use.
Any unclaimed items must be removed from lawns by 7 p.m. on the day of the event.
If poor weather occurs, the rain date has been scheduled for June 7. Treasure Day will take place throughout communities across TLTI.
