The Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus wrapped up a major advocacy day at Queen’s Park this week, bringing together municipal leaders and provincial officials to discuss infrastructure, healthcare and economic growth.
Representing 103 municipalities, the caucus held 16 meetings with ministers, parliamentary assistants and MPPs throughout the day.
The group pushed several priorities from its 2026 advocacy platform, including permanent community paramedicine funding, a province-wide asset management system and returning the municipal portion of HST directly to local infrastructure projects.
The advocacy day ended with a reception attended by political leaders and business partners. Speakers included Premier Doug Ford and Housing Minister Rob Flack.
EOWC chair Bonnie Clark said eastern Ontario municipalities are ready to support provincial priorities tied to housing, workforce growth and economic development.
The organization said it will continue working with the province on long-term solutions for infrastructure renewal, healthcare access and sustainable growth across eastern Ontario.
