A 44-year-old Gananoque resident is facing an alleged spousal assault charge following a police investigation last month.
Gananoque Police say officers responded to an unknown emergency on April 26 after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls. When officers arrived, they located two individuals involved in a dispute.
Police say further investigation determined the victim had allegedly been assaulted throughout the day by their partner.
As a result, a 44-year-old individual from Gananoque was arrested and charged with assault – spousal.
The accused was held in custody pending a show cause bail hearing.
Police have not released further details surrounding the incident in order to protect the identity of the victim.
