A 38-year-old Gananoque resident is facing a theft charge following an investigation into a lost wallet at a local business.
Gananoque Police say the incident was reported on May 24, 2026, after a wallet containing a substantial amount of cash went missing. Officers reviewed surveillance footage, which allegedly showed an individual picking up the wallet and placing it in their back pocket.
Police say the accused was identified and given an opportunity to return the wallet and its contents, but failed to do so. As a result, a warrant was issued.
On June 3, 2026, the individual was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000. They were later released on an undertaking with conditions.
