The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands has approved an additional $2.1 million in funding for the Village of Lansdowne’s Water Storage and Booster Pumping Station project, bringing the total estimated project cost to more than $7.6 million.
Council also awarded the construction contract to Dalcon Constructors Ltd. in the amount of $6.6 million following a competitive tender process. Five bids were received, with Dalcon earning the highest overall score based on experience, project team qualifications, and pricing.
The project is designed to increase drinking water capacity and support future growth in Lansdowne. Originally estimated at $4.5 million when provincial funding was secured in 2024, project costs have risen due to inflation, tariffs, and updated construction estimates.
The municipality received just over $3.28 million through the provincial Housing Enabling Water Systems Fund, with the remaining costs to be covered through municipal debt. Staff say they will continue pursuing additional grant opportunities to offset costs.
