Residents are being reminded that a retaining wall replacement project is currently underway in Lansdowne and will continue through the summer months.
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville are removing an existing stone masonry wall and constructing a new engineered retaining wall at the intersection of County Road 3 (Prince Street) and County Road 34 (King Street West). The work began June 1 and is expected to continue until July 31, 2026.
During construction, the sidewalk on Prince Street remains closed to pedestrians with no through access. However, officials confirm that vehicular traffic is not impacted.
The Counties are reminding residents and motorists to use caution when travelling through the area and to follow all posted signage. The project is intended to improve slope stability and enhance long-term public safety in the community.
