Residents in Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands are being advised of holiday closures and service adjustments in observance of Canada Day on Wednesday, July 1.
The Township Office and local waste sites will be closed for the holiday, while Town Hall in Gananoque will also be closed that day. Regular business hours are set to resume on Thursday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m.
The Gananoque and 1000 Islands Visitor Centre will remain open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., with public washrooms available for visitors throughout the holiday period. All postal services and our local banks will have their doors shut for the day. All LCBO and Beer store locations will be closed on the holiday Monday but corner stores will be selling alcohol to consumers.
Waste and recycling collection will continue on its regular Tuesday and Friday schedule with no changes. However, the Public Works Yard will be closed on July 1, reopening Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Residents are encouraged to take part in local Canada Day celebrations, including events in Seeley’s Bay, and to check community calendars for additional holiday activities across the region.
