OPSEU/SEFPO is calling on the employer and funder to return to the mediation table as a labour dispute involving frontline workers enters its seventh week.
Alex Lane, representing OPSEU Local 441, sent letters to employer representatives, including LLGAMH CEO Kim Gifford, asking for renewed negotiations with the assistance of a mediator.
The union said it is prepared to meet July 13 in Toronto to continue discussions and work toward a new collective agreement. It is also asking for the funder to take part in talks, citing financial and operational challenges affecting the organization.
OPSEU/SEFPO said workers have been impacted by wage restraint policies, including Bill 124, and are seeking improved wages and working conditions.
The union said members remain committed to finding a resolution while continuing their strike action.
