United Way Leeds & Grenville has postponed its inaugural Top 7 Over 70 Awards until 2027 as the organization works through a period of transition.
Board Chair Ian McFall said the decision was made to ensure the program receives the time and attention it deserves. He thanked everyone who submitted nominations, saying the stories highlight the importance of recognizing older adults who continue to make a difference through volunteerism, leadership, mentorship and community service.
The organization said all nominations already received will be securely retained and automatically carried forward for consideration in 2027. People who have already submitted nominations will not need to apply again.
The online nomination form will be removed while planning for the rescheduled event continues.
United Way Leeds & Grenville said more information about event details, sponsorship opportunities and timelines will be released as planning progresses.
The organization says it remains committed to honouring community champions and looks forward to celebrating the inaugural Top 7 Over 70 Awards in 2027.
