A Vermont driver is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop in Central Frontenac Township.
The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police says an officer was patrolling Road 38 shortly after 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 19 when they spotted a pickup truck towing another pickup truck on a utility trailer with what appeared to be a flat tire.
The officer stopped the vehicle to advise the driver of the safety concern. During the investigation, an Approved Screening Device was used, and the driver was arrested before being taken to the detachment for further testing.
Donald Fraser, 70, of Colchester, Vermont, has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 milligrams or more.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Kingston on September 1.
The OPP continues to remind the public to call 911 if they suspect someone is driving while impaired.
