Boaters and nature enthusiasts are invited to learn more about local wildlife during an upcoming Dock Talk at the Gananoque Marina.
Thousand Islands National Park’s Conservation Team will host the free event on July 31 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., offering visitors an opportunity to discover the unique reptiles that call the St. Lawrence River home.
The session will highlight ways boaters can help protect turtles and other at-risk species while on the water. Participants will also learn about local conservation efforts and how they can become environmental stewards within their communities.
The Dock Talk is part of Parks Canada’s ongoing outreach and education initiatives aimed at protecting the region’s ecosystem and raising awareness about the importance of conservation throughout the Thousand Islands area.
