The final service of the 2026 Half Moon Bay summer season will take place Sunday, August 9 at 4 p.m. at the historic outdoor worship site on Bostwick Island near Gananoque. The longstanding tradition, which has welcomed worshippers since 1887, concludes another season of services in one of the region’s most unique waterfront settings.
The closing service will be led by Reverend Anne Shields of Gananoque. Musical accompaniment will be provided by Tim Hallman. Visitors can enjoy the natural surroundings of Half Moon Bay while taking part in the community gathering.
Boat transportation will be available from the west end of Water Street in Gananoque, with pickups scheduled between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Organizers say everyone is welcome to attend the final service of the season and celebrate the historic site’s enduring legacy.
