Gananoque Council will meet Wednesday with a major item on the agenda involving an attempt to override a veto issued by Mayor John Beddows.
Council will consider a request to override the Mayor’s veto, dated July 30, involving Report PD-2026-09 and By-law 2023-098. The matter is listed near the beginning of the regular council agenda.
The meeting begins at 4 p.m. Wednesday, August 12 in the Town Hall Council Chambers.
Council will also hold a public meeting beginning at 5 p.m. to hear comments on two planning matters. One involves a proposed Class III Development Permit for a building contractor’s shop and coffee roasting manufacturing plant. The second concerns a proposed plan of subdivision and development permit for vacant lands south of Elmwood and west of Arthur Street.
Other agenda items include an e-scooter information report, 2026 budget forecasts, fire department updates and community grants.
