Gananoque Police have charged a 60-year-old resident following a reported intimate-partner assault early Sunday morning.
Police say officers responded on August 2 after receiving a report of an assault. Investigators allege the victim was sleeping in a bedroom when their partner entered the room, yelled at them and struck them multiple times with a closed fist.
A 60-year-old Gananoque resident was arrested and charged with Assault – Spousal.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police have not released any further information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
