Residents of Leeds and Grenville, along with those in Gananoque and Prescott, will have an opportunity to safely dispose of household hazardous waste this Saturday, August 15.
Two collection depots will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Leeds County Patrol Garage on Outlet Road north of Lansdowne and at the Delta Fair Grounds on Millcreek Drive in Delta.
Accepted materials include batteries, paint, propane tanks, antifreeze, pesticides, pool chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Electronics, tires, construction waste, ammunition and commercial or industrial waste will not be accepted.
Anyone unable to attend this weekend will have another chance on October 24, when collection sites will operate at the Spencerville Fair Grounds and the North Grenville County Patrol Garage near Kemptville. Residents can drop off materials free of charge.
