The OPP East Region has provided an update following a serious collision involving a car and a transport truck on Highway 401 in the Gananoque and Leeds and the Thousand Islands area.
As of 3:45 this morning, the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 have reopened between Gananoque and Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
Westbound lanes remain closed between Reynolds Road in Leeds and the Thousand Islands and Highway 2 in Gananoque. Motorists should continue to avoid the area and expect delays while the investigation continues.
The OPP is asking anyone with information about the collision, including dashcam footage, to contact Leeds County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at Ontario Crime Stoppers.
