The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands Committee of the Whole meets Tuesday, September 8th at 6 p.m. at the Lansdowne Council Chambers.
Council will hear from two delegations seeking reductions to posted speed limits. Bruce Bowes, representing the Landon Bay East Property Owners Association, is asking for Tumbledown Road and Landsakes Road to be reduced from 50 to 40 kilometres per hour.
Stephanie Wisniewski and Giselle MacNeil will also ask Council to reduce the speed limit on Chisamore Point Road from 50 to 25 kilometres per hour.
Staff reports on the agenda include a request from Cross Cemetery for up to $10,000 toward a concrete pathway to the cemetery entrance, along with proposed funding through the Cemetery Grant Fund and Community Improvement Plan.
Council will also consider proclaiming September 21st to 27th as Rail Safety Week in the Township. The meeting will also include an update on the 2026 municipal and school board election.
