The Town of Gananoque will begin its fall fire hydrant flushing program next week, with work taking place primarily during evening and overnight hours.
The first round of flushing is scheduled from 8 p.m. Tuesday, September 15th, through 6 a.m. Saturday, September 19th.
A second round will run from 8 p.m. Sunday, September 20th, through 6 a.m. Thursday, September 24th.
Residents may notice temporary water discoloration when hydrants are flushed near their homes. If discolouration occurs, the Town recommends running a cold water tap, ideally at the lowest elevation in the home, until the water clears.
The Town apologizes for any inconvenience and reminds residents that the flushing is part of routine hydrant maintenance.
