Council in the Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands has directed staff not to enter into a proposed confidential information-sharing agreement with ALTO.
The agreement would have governed the exchange of confidential information between the Township and ALTO regarding a possible high-speed rail corridor.
The decision means the Township will not proceed with the proposed agreement at this time.
The high-speed rail proposal has generated interest as potential routes and infrastructure plans are considered across Eastern Ontario.
The Township’s decision relates specifically to the proposed information-sharing agreement and does not itself determine whether a high-speed rail corridor will proceed through the area.
