Gananoque residents are being invited to take part in a Lantern Walk for Truth and Reconciliation this evening. The community event begins at 6 p.m. at Gananoque Town Hall and is designed to bring people together in the spirit of truth, reconciliation and reflection.
Organizers say the evening will feature guest speakers, community sharing and a walk to First People’s Park. Participants will have an opportunity to reflect on the importance of reconciliation and honour Indigenous communities along the route.
The event coincides with the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which is observed across Canada each year on September 30. Organizers emphasize that everyone is welcome to attend and take part in the gathering.
