Motorists using the Thousand Islands Bridge should plan for possible delays Monday morning as maintenance work is scheduled on the U.S. span of the bridge system.
According to the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority, traffic control measures will be in place from 8 a.m. to approximately noon on October 5. The work will require alternating one-way traffic operations on the U.S. span, which could slow travel in both directions.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and be prepared for temporary stoppages while crews complete the maintenance work. The Bridge Authority says the measures are necessary to ensure the work is carried out safely and efficiently.
Officials are reminding travelers to expect delays during the four-hour maintenance period.
