Gananoque Police have charged a 34-year-old Elgin resident following a traffic stop on September 2nd.
An officer on patrol observed a vehicle displaying an expired licence plate that was registered to a different make and model. Police say the vehicle parked at a nearby business, where the officer spoke with and identified the occupants.
The investigation determined the driver was criminally suspended from driving after previously being convicted of impaired operation.
The 34-year-old was arrested and charged with operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code.
Police say the accused was released on an appearance notice.
The vehicle was also impounded for 45 days as a result of the incident.
