Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands Mayoral candidates Corinna Smith Gatcke and Jason Page were part of an All Candidates night at the Lansdowne Community Building Wednesday night. Incumbent Mayor Corinna Smith Gatcke was happy with everything from last night and is looking forward to continuing as Mayor.
Jason Page told us following the event, that his focus is making local voices heard.
Gatcke also had this to say about red tape, which was discussed during the debate.
Page said he was happy with the turn out on the evening, but had this to say about why he feels there could be more in attendance for these events.
Over 100 residents of all ages were on hand as both candidates discussed several topics including infrastructure and even Strong Mayor Powers. Both did agree that the strong Mayor Powers would be used only when necessary to do so. The event was hosted by the 1000 Islands Gananoque Chamber of Commerce.
