The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township Office and waste sites will be closed Wednesday, November 11th, in observance of Remembrance Day. Regular operating hours will resume Thursday, November 12th.
Residents are also reminded that Remembrance Day ceremonies will take place at several locations throughout the township.
Services begin at 10:30 Wednesday morning at the Lyndhurst Legion, Seeley’s Bay Legion and the Lansdowne Community Veterans Memorial on King Street West.
An additional ceremony will take place at the Rockport Cenotaph on Front Street at 1 o’clock in the afternoon.
Poppies are available throughout the township in exchange for a small donation, supporting veterans and their families in need.
Residents are encouraged to attend a local ceremony and take time to remember those who served.
